Yep been there done that!! The high pressure line design is seriously rubbish, I won't repeat what the bush mechanic in Exmouth said about it, but lets say he wasn't handing out compliments. Are you sure its the hose and not something else like the very small flange that is used as the sealing pressure point onto the o-ring seal, this metal flange will split, don't take much, just a mini pin split and its all over, as soon as it builds up pressure, bang gone! Its also in the fitting, if the Jeep service mech doing it over tightens it just a fraction then it will only be a matter of time before it gives, do your remember when yours has gone, has it been in a corner or turning sharply into your drive way etc. I also think it depends on who fitted and torqued it when orginally installed at build time, think there is just one guy in the factory who hasn't got a clue!! He must have fitted both mine, yours and my mates.
I had mine go whilst rock climbing in Exmouth and my mate had exactly the same thing happen to him up in Shark Bay. Pump up the tyres and hope you make it back to civilisation (close hopefully) before your pump is toasted from lack of fluid!! I've still got the one Jeep replaced it with, but its a spare now. Because as soon as I got back to Perth I had a hose specialist knock me up a bullet proof item, has never caused me any problems, no more of this stupid flange stuff.
Cheers
Mick
