Default Diesel Turbo Noise

Hi all

99 XJ Turbo Diesel

My Turbo has started to make a warbling whistle sound whilst under load, does anybody have any leads to the cause & remedy?

could have a air leak some where in the piping

also change the clamps for some good ones

is it a squawking warble if so yuo have a hole in the hose between the compressor an intercooler at the sharp bend

remedy i cut hose at the split and installed a alloy bend with lips on ends

Thanks for the tip Murray. It was a split in the lower hose (turbo to intercooler), just at the narrow part nr the steering shaft joint. Managed to cut & insert a bit of brass pipe, seems have have done the job, just a very slight buzz under acceleration, which might just be the normal turbo noise kicking in.

OK, thought I had fixed it but back to normal. I will have another go & perhaps silcone & clamp the hose to the pipe insert.

Does anyone have knowledge of replacement/manufacture for these intercooler hoses? I've seached the threads this AM but can find little.
