Thanks What No Jeep,

I will try that but at this stage i'm still useing the fuel from the last fill as i filled both tanks, plus now my fuel gauge has decided to stop working it stays on full for up to 300K's before it starts to move so i'm going by the trip meter at the moment.

I did try turning key on 3 times before starting but made no difference.

It sounds like the fuel is draining back to the tank.
Most likely the oring seals on the fuel lines from the fuel filter to the fuel pump.
While under load they don't leak but once sitting for a while the fuel gravity feeds back to the tank. Then it takes a lot of cranking to get the fuel up and start.

Those blaming old glow plugs, mine have done 100,00kms and it still starts straight away, most mornings I almost "forget" to wait the plugs warm up so quickly even on these cold winter mornings.

I would not think it is glow-plug issue, never needed them here in the last 8 years.

Peter the WH CRD's do go through lgow plugs, they lose Omhs. My GDE Flash Tool can read and clear the codes as well. It also tells you which cylinder has the dodgy plug, pretty common for the Merc engine I hear. Doesnt take long to change them out.

I've also got a WH DTC Code PDF you can download from my website. I've had 2 dodgy glow plugs in our WH for 2 years now. Sometimes it takes a fraction longer to start but not very often.

Also I do know that the oil companies change additives in their fuels during the changes of season - but only winter to Summer, could also be something to do with it.

Thanks Stu,

It goes to the dealer tomorrow for that and the fuel gauge so we'll see what they say.
