Default Diff Service

Finally getting around to changing the diff lubricants - I have a 2001 with Quadra-Drive. What would be the best choice lubricant?

Thermally stable SAE 80W-90 gear lube

or

SAE 75W-140 Synthetic

Best Brand - i was thinking Royal Purple?

I will get the FM from Jeep.

Neither. It's either the genuine fluid or the Redline alternative (don't know the product code nfortunately) apparently Burson's stock it.

This topic has been done to death. Use the search function within the GC section of the forum and you will find it.

Oh, and if you want your Quadra-Drive to work properly off-road, don't use any FM.

Sorry, I wasn't talking about the product code for the Mopar genuine fluid - I was talking about the Redline alternative - stocked by Burson's. Apparently the only non-genuine alternative you can use.

It's still relatively expensive from memory, but nowhere near $700 - more like $150 or something like that.

The diffs will not work properly without the right fluid.

I am running Amsoil, it locks the diffs up at tee intersections. the wife hates the groans it give in the shopping centre carparks(too many tight turn).
Does the redline oil do the same?
