I'm not sure what you are after - a decent snorkel or someone to fit it? Can you clarify.

Got a private message marked from you SNOWG - subject line '??????' makes me think SPAM so I delete - sent me once before with the subject 'kkkkkkkk' which I also deleted. Not sure if you are meaning to send these?

dblab, not sure. Why post this here, seems a little weird. Usually only pm folks for advice or to comment on stupid posts.

Cheapest option is to buy over the net. Which model have you got? Did my own fitting on my WH and was pretty straight forward.

Hi MunchMunch,

I'd suggest buying one online and then finding a good workshop in your area to fit it based on local reputation. It does not require specialist 4WD or Jeep knowledge.

Cheers

Well I take it you were not after my advice then?

I prefer to make my posts public thanks rather than hide behind rude pm's - others may learn and understand why you send them pm's with '??' or 'kkkkkkk' as a subject line. I've now worked out that you pm'd me your comments on what you considered a stupid post - get over it.

Couple of observations after fitting one of these:
1. opening the bonnet meant that it hit the snorkel; answer was a heat gun & a piece of pipe. Ended up looking almost as if it was designed that way
2. what have others done to stop rocks from getting to flexible hose form snorkel to airbox? I've bolted a piece of aluminium across the hole I cut in the inner guard so hopefully that will avoid stone damage.

Can't help but wonder why it's a piece of flexible hose (although it is good quality) when other snorkels use a solid piece.

I must be slow also because it took me more than 4 hours!!!

4 hours is quick!

The actual positioning of the snorkel seems subject to a fair bit of leeway to me, the template's not the most accurate thing to position for the first hole. I got lucky and the bonnet misses the tube by about 5 mm. I have noticed that the tube changes position slightly between door open and closed also as the door rubber pushes on the bracket. And boy does it vibrate on a corrugated road!

Didn't need to modify the inner guard at all when I did mine though it is a very tight fit.
