Default help selecting jeep

hey guys looking at selling my 100 series gxl turbo diesel for a late model jeep at this stage im trying to decide what which jeep model will suit me.
ive had jeeps all my life but only as a weekend driver and nothing under 25 years old.
the reason i ask these simple questions is its not as easy for me to go to the local jeep dealer and have a browse, good old tas for you and will be more than likely buying from victoria.

requirements......... 2007 onwards up to $45000

i like the rugged look of the commander and the stylish looks of the grand chero, so not too fussed there.
what im after is a comfortable ride on reasonably long trips.
i drive in snow a fair bit to get to work and icy conditions.
need good cargo room for the missus and pram.
looking for a few luxury mod cons.
ive got no idea petrol or diesel as ive had no experiance with these engines.
im looking at either 3td or 5.7hemi.
what i want to know is if the crappy fuel ecconomy of the hemi is a small sacrifice for the power or should i just go for the reliable old diesel.
i plan to keep it for three years so would like decent resale too.
cheers Mick

Check out the Grand section as to the reliability of the deadseal, plenty to read there. swirl motors or something like that

I have 03 Overland GC 4.7 HO never had a problem. Fuel consumption is about 10 to 11k's on a trip to launey,
