Exclamation Whats my first step

G'day all, I have just bought myself a 95 XJ Cherokee sport.
Its only got 165000 k's on the clock, no rust and generally in great stock standard condition. I live on the coast in South Western Australia in a great little 4 wheel driving spot named Hopetoun. I really want to get on the beach and have some sick fun with my new beast and make sure I can get to all the good spots but I'm not to sure about the clearance of my jeep in the very boggy beaches around here and really want to show up all the land cruiser loving locals around here.
My question is; What needs to be done to my stock standard XJ to make sure I get to where I wanna be prove the Jeeps worth on the beach.
I'm thinking a lift kit and some bigger tyres but need advice.
Any assistance/direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks alot,
Jarrad

Welcome along! Hopetoun- nice spot!
A 2 inch lift is easy and cheaply achieved and a 30 inch tyre would work nicely. Don't forget to change the speedo cog to get the speedo accurate.
Also check out http://jeep-xj.info/index.htm for any additional info you may require!

let the tyres down and stick the foot in. The one big advantage you have over the Jap behemoths is about tonne less weight. Honestly here in QLD almost all I do is beach and sand islands. A litlle lift helps but you should not need it.
