Default Servo problem?

I need some advice please.

When I'm crawling my Jeep just looses power to the wheels, the lights are on but dim. It's very frustrating as you need to release the controller (no throttle, and let the wheels go back to straight) and sometimes to get it to work you need to reverse or simply wait a about 15 seconds for power to come back.

Any ideas?

(I'm running all the Axial gear that came with my SCX10, and the hand controller)

No, battery full on the rig and hand set. I have had problems in the past with the hand set going flat but this isn't like that.

The motor is controlled by the speed controller, not a servo, so it could be that the speed controller is either over heating and going into thermal shut down, or you are getting power losses through the connectors.

I would check the soldered connections into the connectors (ie, hod the connector and pull hard on the wires), also check the surfaces on the connectors for black marks indicating arcing due to poor connection at high currents. You can also drive it hard til it starts to slow then quickly check all cables, connectors, battery, speed controller etc for heat, as heat will indicate a bad connection in the wiring and plugs. An overheating speed controller will indicate either a failing speedy or one under rated for the current draw.

I use the Wattsup meter that plugs in between the battery and speedy then go for spin and it will record the average current, max current etc.

Thanks mate, I'll have a look tonight and see what I can find

Have you had it damp or in water, I notice mine do that same thing when they have been wet. Although they do come good when they dry out
