Does anyone know a thermostat model no for these AMC engines? The housing is corroded, I have a new housing coming from the states but don't want to pull the old one until I have a new thermostat as well. The dear old girl is getting a bit hot under the collar.

All new brake parts on the way. Should be red plated and on the road soon. Then I can start building it a big brother!

As we still haven't seen a pic of the engine yet and if the date on the front seat in the second photo is correct then it should have a Tornado OHC 6. Otherwise it is most likely an early 232 as I said earlier, so a CJ thermostat should work.

The date in the sign I don't think is accurate, I suspect it is a 67/68 but there is no plate on it and I am far from an expert. Need to look into it some more. Sorry I haven't posted an engine pic sooner, I'm overseas for work at the moment and have been pretty flat out. You are right though wee doggie, starter on the left, see below.

Bit of an update.

The ute now has red plates on it, brakes are fully rebuilt, valve stem seals changed and engine running pretty well. I had a set of sunraysia rims powder coated to match the paintwork, running 31x10.5 ATs, looks awesome. I rebuilt and painted the original power-lok hubs, very nice. New tray under construction, steel frame with ironbark tray. Pics to come soon. Original 3 piece bumper and grille at the chrome platers, meant to be back next week. As soon as this ute is done my other 2 gladiators will be on the market, enough parts between them to build one nice truck.
