was surfing the net looking at xj porn and found this....

whats ya thoughts on a hitch like this

Depending on the shipping cost, would be the easiest way to carry a spare outside the vehicle. The big question is how big a tire does it take.

Oh yes and it stuffs you if your towing, or wanting to do a recovery.

I like the idea quick and easy great for weekend away when you need the room in the rear and leave it in shed when not needed

Making a similar thing for a mate at the moment for when he needs a second spare for remote trips with his cruiser ute. Not ideal for everyone but great for certain applications.

I used to carry a 125 motobike on my hitch with a rack i made.

I'm guessing that it wouldn't be too hard to fab one with a shackle mount for recovery.. Hmm.....

I had been pondering something similar but that swivel mechanism is a great idea, I wonder if there would be much movement in the hitch receiver?
