Unhappy This is harder than it shoud be

Ok guys,

Im still trying to find somewhere for recovery hooks, Im trying to get them done correctly (and yes chmor I do plan on using an equalizer strap as per your advice) I have tried...... STU, UV at brendale, a couple of opposite locks, Hammonds and a few others, all have said they dont do it and 1 said it can't be done..... 1 of the opposite locks said they wil take a look and if they think it can be done it will cost $520 for 4 tow hooks (2 each so I can use a strap)
Im all or safety but surely there are a few KJ drivers out there without a front bar or tow bar that have installed tow hooks for emergancy use???

Crikey!!! I read a few posts over on LOST about guys that have installed the hooks in the front themselves.

Quickest and easiest is the nudgebar on the front and a towbar on the back.

Does this apply to all jeeps,(for example, a TJ)

Vehical make is not relevent, mild steal is bad all nuts n bolts should be grade 8 high tensile, and as some one as allready mentiond you can renforce any holes through the chasis with small plates.

I have a shovel, maxi trac's, recovery strap & rated shackles, high lift jack, was thinking of buying the extras to turn the jack into a very slow winch.
Do it tell 4x4 shop what they can do with there $500 quote, maybe it would be prudent to find a 4x4 shop or 4x4 club that could advise you exactly where to mount them, surely there should be one shop some where that is happy to sell you the hooks with some friendly advise on best spot to fit em, or some one experianced on this fourm in your area?!
