Default Headlight upgrade for a WH, anybody done it?
Just wondering if any one has upgraded the headlight bulbs in their WH Laredo? I am wondering if it's possible or practical. I noticed some people on ebay selling upgrade globes but was a bit sceptical of it all. I know that the limited & higher models come with HID lights I belive but us with the povo Laredo's don't get such luxuries. Any info greatly appreciated.

I got some HIR globes for the high beams off "Max Lumens" on e-bay. Cheap and fit fine after a little trimming of the locating tabs as per this link. Made a noticable difference.

Be aware though that for my WH Laredo, the owners manual said I had 9005/9006 high/low beams, the globe manufacturers specs listed the WH as having 9005/9006 high/low beams, but my vehicle actually has 9005/H11 high/low beams. Something peculiar to Oz or right hand drive models I guess but I have not been able to find a replacement for the H11s.

The globe mounted actually appears to screw on to the headlight casing so in theory it should be possible to replace the H11 mount with 9006 mounts but I haven't pursued it as they are only low beams after all.
