Default Heads Up - Bad Suspension Bushings

Folks, some of you would be aware of Nobby's recent problem with his new rear control arm bushing disintegrating after only five weeks of use. If not I suggest you have a look through the LOST thread on this subject (complete with photos):

http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB...p?f=93&t=63326

It seems that Nobby, through another member, sourced his rear control arm bushings from Morris 4x4 in the USA. This is not the first instance that we have heard of where the Morris 4x4 supplied bushings have failed - their clevis bushings have developed a reputation for collapsing in a matter of weeks.

I am sure cmohr and others will have more to say on this topic.

I wanted to let the KJ Forum members know that I have emailed Morris 4x4 management about this problem (on their published email address for customer service

customerservice@morris4x4center.com

I will pass on any rely that I receive from them.

Anyone that has had problems with the Morris 4x4 suspension bushings is encouraged to email them as well so as to make them aware of the scope of the problem here in Australia and the potential business impacts this may have both directly through lost sales and word of mouth through the Jeep community worldwide.

I have received an email response from Morris 4x4 in the USA concerning the bad 'Crown' brand bushings, and pasted it in below:

Hi Glenn

Thanks for letting us know about this. I try to monitor the forums but I guess I missed this one. I am going to spend today trying to figure out a solution for this. I really like your idea about offering the OE ones for severe use and the Crown for street use. I will email you back we come up with a solution. Once again we at Morris 4x4 appreciate all the support from you folks down under.

Well done!

I wonder if they can come up with a better freight deal. I just ordered 2 front rotors and pads and the freight was US$200!!! Needless to say I found an alternative here in NZ from Brembo for NZ$120 each.

Getting stuff for Land Rover from the UK is 1/2 the price. Annoying

Well done glend,

You are of course you're right, if none of us give feedback to a supplier then how are they to know!

Cheers

Josh, Give Jeep Parts Mansfield a call, 07 3426 1731. Tell them you are here on AJOR and see what price they will do. I bought the front celvis set (2) for 99.00 from there, they can also arrange delivery.
