I had the same problem not so long ago. CRD Auto. It turned out to be the viscous fan.

That was my first thought, but when I told the dealer they swear, that everything is working fine on it...even the presure test...came back fine....funny how they didn't find the hole in the top hose...from where it had been rubbing. The guy at the local Autobarn said maybe because it's been sitting around all the coolant had gone hard or whatever. When I replaced the top hose, after I had put a nulon radiator flush through it there was a white powder loooking stuff around the top hose area....

I will take it to the local radiator guy down here in gippy and see what they think....

If I only had time to clean it out when we had the accident I might not have had a huge bill.It had to go into the readiator guy's for flushing..

Interesting though when they pulled it out.....I said about how the radiator shares it with the tranny.

The guy said no the transmission cooler is part of the air con condenser.Top is for air con and the bottom is for the trans...best thing is he showed me.

They had never pulled a radiator out of the 2007 crd before..and stated that it was a prick of a job....oh he also stated next time you go and play in the mud make sure you clean it out.....
