I have got a Scangauge II that i have used on my 98XJ and it works great.
However my mate had some trouble with his 97/98 Land Rover Discovery and thought maybe it would work on his and we could see if it was throwing out any codes etc. When we plugged it into the OBDII plug it powers up but just says connecting and doesnt fully connect so we were unable to scan the cpu.
I was wondering if anyone knew if that was a compatability problem between the car and the Scangauge or does something need to be done with the scangauge before you can use it on another vehicle?
When i bought my ScanguageII for my 99 TJ it was doing the same thing as yours is doing in your mates disco.
Im led to believe there is different settings and printed circuit boards availiable from scanguage to suit a whole host of cars.
I notified them of the issues i was having and they sent me a whole new pcb along with instructions to change it..5 minute job and has worked a treat ever since.
I've used my SGII in a few Jeeps and always get the searching mode, but if I start the car, everything seems to work properly. Should I contact the supplier?
