We have an 06 CRD with 120,000ks on it and it doesn't blow much smoke at all.
Sorry, I can't add anything, you appear to have done most of the things I'd think it would be.
What oil are you using.?

Hi
Mine behaved just like yours, better now but not cured.

GDE might be able to help with a tune for the smoking. More later

Mad, I'm using Nulon semi-synthetic 10W-30, changes a few hundo k's ago.
Just checked out the turbo a little more...very oily around that baby.
I'll have to move the coolant reservoir etc and get in there to have a good look.
Will have to be next week at the earliest though.

You will probably find the Provent will help with the oil dripping from the under side of the turbo compressor side, it did on mine and no doubt many others.

Do what you can to make it breath air better.

It's the way these things are tuned (not tuned, detuned), I've tried several transmission computers (TCM) and curiously nearly ALL of the issues go away, particularly when I use the TCM from a 2003 dodge ram. It revs a bit much to use all the time because it's for the petrol engine. If DCJ were kind enough to alter the RPMs a bit for me I wouldn't be saving for my TOYOTA. When using the dodge TCM there is much out there that comes even close to the way the KJ CRD performs.
