I have had a 35w 6000k in my old bike for a few years now, I personally would go 4300k next time if I do it again. The 6000 is just a little to blue for my liking.
That said, it should be pointed out that even the 35w are not legal in a reflector headlight setup. Its not the aim accuracy that is the problem, its the amount of light that 'leaks' out above the cutoff line. With the stock globes they are not to bad, but the 3 to 5 times brighter HID (or up to 10 times for 55w) means the light above the cutoff line is now way too bright for oncoming traffic.
Almost every night I pass a Patrol with what looks like 6000k 55w HID and while I can see the cutoff line on the road as he approaches, they are just so bright in my eyes I have to hold my hand up to block his headlights so I can see the road in front of me.
This is why they are not legal - and you will get picked up by the cops, not if, when. Like I said I have on on the bike, but its a 26 year old single headlight and my justification was it was just too damn dangerous not being able to see anything! Besides, I hardly ever ride it at night so its more to be noticed during the day.
Anyway, thats my 2c!
