they are if you buy all service parts, spares and fluids from them. bring in all of your own and they'd have to charge you for labour only. that's what I do at adelaide city cjd on the main north rd when not doing servise myself.

100K service includes timing belt change. i'd trust only a mechanic who has the service manual for the engine. there were instances when the mechanics nailed in the oil cartridges the wrong way. i wouldn't take the chance with the timing belt change...

I know exactly! what you guys mean i took mine to jeep in WA Maddington, for the 100k service and they wanted the same nearly $2000!!

$150 an hour for labor,

And that wasn't even with the timing belt or the rear breaks done.

They wanted another 700 for the back breaks and another 1300 for the timing belt.

I'm am taking it to a very trustworthy mechanic by recommendation from coastal 4x4

88 an hour for labor and the guy is honest and does a bang up job and is very experience.

quick-shift auto in myaree

Having said all that though i still got them to carry out part of the service which was all the oils and filters, plus the software update which made the 2.8 crd bit my ballsy and fuel efficient. not to mention the ability to TRULY turn off the ESP when in 4wd nice little update if you ask me.

extortion. There are no Jeep specialists here in S.A but some possible options are Colin Schubert mechanical 4x4 (he specialises in pootrols but works on all vehicles) PM me if you want his details, possibly Big O 4x4 and not sure if fourplay services vehicles but is another option.
I would also recommend kings mechanical up at Golden Grove

I'm going to check out Altrac for my 20K service. Have not spoken to them yet, and its a ways off, but we will see what they say.
