Hi fellas,
Just bought my 3rd Jeep... Come back to a lifted and ARB locked TJ Manual from a JK Rubi 4door because TJ's are a better vehicle in my eyes.
Having said that, I'm going to change the front bar over from a modified stock bar with hoop, winch and lights to something like this:
Body Armor 4X4 Front Formed Winch Bumper
Quote:
This new Body Armor front bumper fits '87-'06 Wrangler YJ and TJ models. It is formed from 3/16" rolled steel plate with an integrated 1/4" thick winch plate. The bumper ends are reinforced along with fully integrated shackle mounts. It also features a bolt steering box skid plate and grille hoop which has built in light tabs. Two step textured black powder coat finish makes for a long lasting durable bumper. |
My last TJ during it's evolution process had:
1. ARB bar (didn't like it, shit metal)
2. Smitty Built SRC tube type stinger bumper (didn't like it, protruded too far to the front)
3. WARN standard bumper which was there when I sold it, it was a good bar but just exceptionally plain and didn't give the best clearance at times being that it was in line with the chassis and stuck out the whole way.
Has anyone owned or seen one of these in person? Are there legal issues with a stubby type bull bar not covering the tyres?
I'm down in Melbourne where everyone is much more relaxed compared to what you fellas in QLD deal with by the looks of things.
Thanks.
