Default new injectors

i installed a set of new injectors on my 99 xj last night and my fuel economy has gone through the roof. i dive about 4 kms and used 1/8 of tank of fuel. also the read out that tells you your instantaneous L/100kms is all over the palce.

Any ideas on why its so bad. these are the injectors i installedhttp://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Remanufac...item4ab528d76c

Did you reset the pcm after putting them in? also check all the vacuum lines and electrical connections around the intake manifold. How does it idle?

i just found this is this right.
1. Disconnect the battery by removing the positive battery cable. Remember, the positive battery cable.

2. Ground the positive cable to the negative cable for 30 seconds to erase the electric charge in the capacitors.

3. Reconnect the positive cable to the battery.

4. Turn the key to on but do not start.

5. Turn the headlights on.

6. Turn the headlights off.

7. Turn the key off.

Should be the right method. I'd still be looking for a vacuum leak, have a listen around the intake manifold/throttle body area and see if you can hear any whistling or air rushing/sucking noise

Have you actually filled the tank back up or are you just trusting the gauges? I find the only 100% reliable method of calculating liters used per 100 kms on a modified car is to do the maths yourself.
For those that don't know:
1. Fill the tank and reset the trip meter (trip meter / odometer needs to be accurate).
2. Drive the car as per normal.
3. On the next fill note the kms and liters you put into the tank to fill it.
4. Now divide the number of kms by 100.
5. Now divide the the number of liters used to fill the tank back up by the result from step 4.

A lot of posts about fuel economy reference things like 'half a tank' and such but that is a totally unreliable reference and won't necessarily correlate to the results of others.
