Had a nice play this morning, had to pull a mates colorado out of a bog hole at 6.30 this morning (good wake up call) they had been stuck there since 2am. he was bogged the old winch has pulled some heavy stuff and today was the first time it every cut out on me, as it was working too hard, had to tripple line pull to get colorado out.
we did 1km in just under 5hrs.
the winch hasnt been used so much in one day
had to snatch the colorado about 10 times and winch it 4 times and winch mine once,
did some damage to the stock colorado ripped the nudge bar off and a lot of underbody damage from big trees accross the track, had no choise had to drag him over them as it was the only way back out.
that will teach him from taking a 50k 4wd on tracks for modifiyed 4wds.
should have taken some pics to show how bad the track where, was fun though

Plus a 14mm ratchet ring spanner. That was the only thing I could use to tighten up a couple of the nuts, I think the 2nd from the front underneath gave me the most trouble. I put hitech headers on.
You can get to most of the rear ones from lying underneath. Could even get a torque wrench on nearly all of them.
Small unis and extensions are useful - 1/4" or 3/8" drive if you can.
I managed it in about 8 hours all up and that was stopping to take pics too. Good luck!

Young bloke had to play bowls in Evans Head today, so, took the opportunity when finished to take the ol' XJ for a blat up the local beach. Went good. Looks to me with a favorable tide you could get from Evans Head to Sth Ballina.
We got half way around the coffee rock but the tide hadn't got out far enough so we turned back.

So, I'm experiencing long crank to start with the jeep. Battery is all good, coolant does need changing but suspect cps is on the way out however I have noticed something else odd the the XJ has been doing for a couple of weeks now. Getting a strong fuel smell on cabin when driving. Will occur more then once in a 20 minute drive to town. As I've had fuel leaks before I have checked under the car when the smell is strongest only to find no fuel leaks or fuel smell outside the car. Wondering if this is all related or could my charcoal canister need replacing? Maybe a faulting cps is flooding the engine causing the fuel smell, but if so wouldn't it cause the jeep the run rough/ cutout?

I had a similar problem, hard to start and strong fuel smell, was a leaking fuel injector
