I've heard they are moving to Brisbane. Apparently they sell more jeeps in SE QLD than anywhere else in the country.

Exactly my point, with all the Jeeps Chrysler sells in Australia you would think they would be better stocked than what they are with spares!

The recall that came through for my soft top was posted out to me last November - I had to take the letter into DVG Melville to actually prove to them that Chrysler had sent out a recall for the soft top replacement should it have pin holes in the canvass which mine did. They knew nothing about it!

The new canvass was fitted last week - 6 months after they verified the issue!

For awhile now I have been experiencing a metal on metal noise when i release the clutch. This sound happens no matter how soft I try and release the clutch pedal, which is really annoying especially when the radio is off as the sound can be heard quite clearly.
Just spent 4 hours down at DVG this morning while they diagnose the fault which i thought would be something as simple as a rubber stop missing from the clutch pedal. Turns out that a weld has failed and they need to replace the whole clutch pedal assembly!
The JK is still drivable which is great but what annoys me is that there are no clutch pedal assemblies in Australia so they have to order from the States! This is the second time that DVG have had to order parts in from the States to fix my issues. Do Jeep Australia not keep spares for these vehicles???
My previous issue with parts was a soft top recall which took nearly 6 months for the new canvass to arrive from the States! Hopefully, the clutch pedal won't take this long...
Edit: I have a 2010 JK 4 door
waits of up to 3 months are pretty common mate. 6 months is unusual, although we recently had a bloke with a blown computer who was told there were simply none available anywhere in the world and no idea how he could get one, he subsequently sourced one aftermarket from jeepengines australia. this is pretty typical of chrysler, they just don't care. and neither do the dealers.

In comparison to other makes the jk wrangler sale volume is very small so it does not make sense to hol alot of parts. Selling 250 units a month Australia wide is a drop in the ocean compared to other makes here

I disagree, regardless of the sales volume they are legally obligated to hold parts within the country. Besides if shit like this happens where people can't get parts and your after sales service is piss poor then it isn't going to improve your sales is it.... Doesn't matter how cheesy their "you bought a jeep?" campaign is.

For those who care, my computer still hasn't arrived from Chrysler Australia, nor have they located one anywhere within their dealer network worldwide, and they haven't ordered mine from the computer manufacturer...... I guess they figure the fact my car has been off the road for over 3 months is acceptable and they don't need to get me the computer anytime soon.

Bunch of useless morons at Chrysler Aust, as I say, don't waste your time with the dealers, ring Zane at Jeep Engines.
