If your car is unroadworthy it becomes very messy especially when you have no insurance....

i have been pulled over for making an illegal rh turn coming out of a servo, got the ticket.
all the officers were worried about with my XJ was the cracked windscreen, and even at that were very fair about it and suggested i should get it seen to ASAP,
lift and wheels didnt even get a mention, but then maybe the grey hair is finally paying off hehehe

VEHICLE MODIFICATIONS including SUSPENSION LIFTS and TYRES in QLD
I found the info - finally. What you read in these links reminds us that MANY people are out there driving illegal rigs. Sure you can fool the boys in blue but ask you're insurance company what they think !! Dont forget, insurance covers more than cars .. it covers people too - think CTP. I pray you guys with illegal rigs never hit me or my family.
Check out page 78 for "The suspension travel in the bump or rebound mode must not be altered by more than onethird of that measurement as specified by the original manufacturer"
http://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/~/media/60...n3_feb2004.pdf
This one is a short summary which mentions Tyre diameter +15mm limit (pg eighteen) and the fact that Extended Shackles are illegal (page 6)
