Default Clunking

I have a 2007 CRD Grand Cherrookee 100,000 klm.
It has started making a clucking sound coming from the front right axle at very slow parking type speeds.
Another time driving over a very rough track on the left hand side front a clucking sound as something as adrift but as soon as we smooth road it dissapeared.
The front mount for the diff has a crack in the rubber but is still 50
% holding on its hard to imagine that being cause, its about all I can find, any ideas?

I am thinking of putting it up on 4 blocks and putting into gear with wheels off ....turning that should elimate diff and steering box problems.

Any other ideas...all other bushes etc appear to look ok.

Front diff mounts. If its split, its moving under load. Put it on a hoist and then watch from underneath shifting from D to R. If one diff bush is broken, check the others, they wont be far behind. Followed closely by the front drive shaft CV's.

At 100k the CV's might be close to needing replacement too.

Valpacer, are the front diff mounts hard to replace? Is it something I could do or do I have to pay someone to pull the whole front end apart and do for me. Haven't had a look yet but I think I have the same problem.

Patience, there's a discussion on this already, check page 2, second and third last post: http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/...=112100&page=2

Valpacer gives a link on how to fix it, I'm yet to do mine: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f67/h...ement-1299567/

Briteway has it!

2 are very easy, the third is pressed it. Easy on the bench, harder in the car. We just did the pressed in one on mine last week, knocked the centre out, used a sawsall to cut eh bush casing from the inside and drove it out. put the new on in with the old bushing as a driver and used a BFhammer. Was on the bench though.
