Default Caution buying OS key blanks

Just wanted to let you know what happened to me so it doesn't happen to anyone else.

I finally got around to getting the two blank keys for my 2008 WH CRD coded and cut. I bought them from the US using EBay.

Problem is my existing key is 433 MHZ, and the US ones are 315 MHZ.

Looks like that's $150 down the drain. Maybe get one cut but not coded, so at least if I leave the original key locked inside (which would be pretty easy) I can unlock the doors to get it.

Unless anyone else has an idea on how to make them work. Return postage both ways probably wouldn't be worth the hassle - and that's only if the existing EBay supplier have the 433 MHZ ones.

Sorry to hear about your fruitless outlay, but as you say at least they will unlock the car should the original key get locked in it.

I often wondered about those keys from Ebay, as most seem to have a different fob including a panic alarm which is not on the WG/J's at least.

But one for others here to learn from.

When you buy your keys from the US you need to give them your VIN so they can send you the correct key, you can buy then direct from Chrysler

We bought off keylessride.com and it works like a charm.

Thanks for the offer. I have two remotes for my WJ. It's the WH (or WK in the US) that I only have the one for.

Cheers
