CV JOINT Repacement 2007 WH
I am trying to source CV joints both sides preferably with axles for the Front Wheels / Diff.
Grand Cherookee 2007 WH 3 ltr CRD Auto.
1/ How do you tell if your front diff is a limited slip diff or not?
2/ Pricing
Repco has quoted $200.00 each no freight complete with axles.
RockAuto is $45.00 ea but plus around $120.00 postage each = $165 each.
Any other ideas?

Ive got Rockauto ones in mine currently, seem to be doing fine. Check the repco ones, last time i checked they though the WH was a KK cherokee.
Discountautoparts are around same price as Rockauto as well.
If you have the ELSD you will have QuadraDrive II, so should be a badge on the shifter console, and a wiring loom to each diff, and the rear diff will be a 12 bolt instead of the normal 10 bolt.

I've bought 2 sets of CV axle from the USA in the past 18 months. A complete set to my front door ex USA costs between $280 to $310 depending on the exchange rate but unfortunately these USA sourced Chinese made CV's just don't last on the trail. 2 sets down and I'm now back to original Jeep ones.
The difference is mainly in the steel quality. The cheapies have softer steel and bruise easily when under extreme load and start to click on about the 3 hard run you give them. Also these Chinese cheapies only have a conventional 6 ball set up where as the original Jeep ones have 8 balls. The extra 2 balls helps to spread the load also the steel is extremely hard and longer wearing.
This 8 ball set up means you can’t get them reconditioned here in Australia. I’ve found no reco mob that can do them. If anyone knows of one please pass on the info.
The brand I bought ex USA is GSP and they have a good name but as I said no good for off roading but will certainly be a cheap way to fix a bitumen based WH Grand or XH Commander.

Mine are the cardone ones that the US WK guys are using, will find out soon how they hold up to the 35's!
Might be time to bite the bullet and order a set from http://www.rcvperformance.com/catego...ifs-axles.aspx
Still cheaper than a set from the Dealer!

I'll let you give them a tough time and could you let me know how they handle the rough stuff. My Chinese ones lasted about 2 or 3 rough trips to the 4x4 parks and then started to click. I have just bought 2 second hand original sets from some local Jeep wreckers so I hope I'll be OK for a year or two but who knows as I keep pushing the truck harder and harder and do some stupid stuff sometimes that Commanders maybe shouldn't be doing.
I checked out the site you mentioned but they didn't list WK CV's as stock items. Do you know how much they would cost for a set?

They were at 1250 US$ for the set + shipping.

That's a bargain when you compare it to $2400 for a set of standard CV's and axle ex Jeep Australia. The Chinese ones are cheap enough but I get sick of having to change them over. I can now change a set in just over an hours but I can think of better things to do.
I need to have a rethink, maybe this will be the way to go.
What are your thoughts on these supposed bullet proof CV's ex the USA Valpacer?
