I don't want to land myself in a defamation case, but, it wasn't John Hughes, or DVG Maddington.

Hi larnert, I hope you get the issue sorted mate because i know how you feel. My JK died at 6000kays and the rest is history. I love my JK now and have had nothing but good time with it. Apart from a steering damper and a blown turbo hose (common issues) It goes like a dream. You should fight for a new engine mate, Dont give up on the jeep ikts not the car .Have you tried the media for help?

I have tried contacting the media, but they haven't gotten back to me.

It's a shame because I admit, I really like the car, it's just had so many issues.

On another note, I got a phone call yesterday saying that the engine would be running today.

just as a side issue. there was a bit of discussion about play in the turbo shaft. how much is there supposed to be in the turbo shaft, i thought some play was normal.

A little in out shaft play is normal, a little side to side is fine.
Less than 1mm side to side is acceptable, but any more than that and keep an eye on your oil.

Generally when turbos go you hear something.. from Japanese cars I've heard noise similar to a dog howling.
-edit- like a Woooooo @ certain rev ranges, silent when spooling up, then wooo, then once its fully spooled, normal sound again.
You have to really listen for it.. I didn't hear a thing when mine went. -/edit-
