Was my first trip to Fraser and the trip to the barge was a little bit of a surprise so did it without preparation and full on road tyre pressure. Some liberal use of the loud pedal got my through fine and lowering the pressure on the barge really made a difference for the second part.

Really enjoyed the trip only regret that we did not have the time to go further up north.

Thanks PWY great post. I also have a GC Overland 2012. I don't like the sound of the Kumho tyres especially in the wet, why a company like jeep would use crappy tyres like that with the risk to their reputation I don't know.

Because companies are run by accountants and not engineers these days and Kumho must have offered a really good price.

Looks great pwy!! Good to see you using it as a real 4WD like it should.....

We're meant to be heading to Fraser in November for a couple of weeks alone with our new camper trailer - you have given me a bit more confidence now. Anything to worry about if travelling alone and no winch?

Cheers,
Hanna

I would call that more playing than doing serious 4WD but at least my car has done more off-roading than 99% of all GCs sold will ever do

Wouldn't worry too much about Fraser alone and a winch is not that easy to use in sand anyway. Take a snatch strap with you and there will be plenty of other 4WDs around to help should you really need it.

Cheers
Peter
