I have previously run the Teraflex units, which were good in their day (12 yrs ago), and I have run both the Gen 1 and Gen 2 JKS disconnects which in my opinion are better than the Tera's, the RE dc's are crappy and rattle....since 08 I have run a Currie Anti-Rock.

Plenty of threads on here covering this topic have a search.

Hi Guys, Back from Fraser and found the following.
When I disconnected the swaybar for rough inland tracks immediate improve in ride and travels was noticed. Wasn't as stable at higher speeds but worth the comfort on rough tracks.

I removed the bolts from lower joints and rotated the swaybar until the ends could be rested on top of the spring perchs. They happily sat there all week. (lips on top of perch helps keep them in place. I now wouldn't spend the money on disconnects and happy to removed 2 bolts to disconnect.

Just my 2cents

Jas

At least use zip ties to hold them in place; if they come off (which they will) you'll pay for it. Swaybars will and do move side to side. If you wheel often enough you'll soon invest in a set of disco's.

its juat as easy to take the whole sway bar out, I use a rattle gun to do it, 10 minutes and im done, I dont recommend it though, I found I was driving alot slower, where id normally take a corner at 80k, I was then doing it at 55-60k.

For those that have done Fraser recently, in terms of tire pressures is there a need to re-inflate for inland tracks or can you leave the tires down around 15psi for the whole time on the island?

G'day EM

We did a week on Fraser mid August and the inland tracks are where you will definitely need the pressures down. We dropped to 18psi at Inskip Point before we drove out to the barge and aired up a week later at the Shell on our way home. I did drop my tyres to 15 when I got stuck rescuing Rav 4 on an inland track but other than that 18 worked fine all week. If your Jeep is a stock JK it will drag the belly and depending on the beach conditions on the day you will need to slow down for the rocks etc but you will have no probs otherwise.

Cheers
David
