Default Another Great Jeep Storey

So after placing a stick through a T piece in the fuel line and rendering the Jeep undriveable we managed to get the car towed out of the bush down to Bairnsdale . Then on towed to Pakenham and finally after much confusion to Carrum Downs at 4B Fabrication(Total Care will eventually get you there) . That arrived there Wednesday a week ago.

Joel then contact Jeep described the part in detail and placed the order through plus a fuel filter only to discover that it had to come from Sydney and would arrive Friday.

Come Friday, part arrives with no fuel filter and wrong T piece fuel line. They did have a choice of 2 possibilities. He did say the line was approximately 30cm long at the longest point, the line that arrived was a metre long at the longest point.
Reordered part again with fuel filter, only to discover on Tuesday (that's how long it took them to get back to Joel) there is there is no such part in Australia and still no fuel filter.

So we do the ring around various wreckers with no luck at all, Joel looks at buying the bits individually and building the line but when he reach $550.00 in bits he stopped the process. So he finally called in his hose guy to make up the line and at around $200.00, we now have a car that runs and a new metal T piece that hopefully wont break as easy.

Still no sign of fuel filter (I'll order a non genuine on next week) and get Joel to fit it up(I'm over getting covered in diesel).

Bloody hell mate!! At least the JK is running again, sounds like the new set up that was made up will be better than the OEM gear.

Do you know who made up the new line for you?

I feel your pain mate our 2011 JKU CRD was only a month old when this happened to ours on a graded dirt road !!! Big long stick went under from the front rhs and caught on the side of the road twisted around and snap !! No more forward motion and lots of diesel and smoke !!! I saw smoke, smelled diesel and ordered all to abandon ship. Mrs looked out her side and was right next to a deep gutter/rut on the edge of the road and yelled back "get me a ladder"!!! Long story short ...... Jeep okay but fuel line stuffed. I made the mistake of telling jeep assist what was wrong. They said it was impact damage so we had to pay for the tow. $400 later jeep home and myself and the Fil went to auto arm bought a brass t piece and some fuel line. Jeep fixed and all okay but still get nervous with sticks ;0) lesson learned that day was next time I call jeep assist I will tell them nothing more than " car stopped, no noise from car, send tow truck".

Glad yours is okay now
Cheers
Dave
