For anyone who is interested I plugged in my ScanGauge today just to see what the actual temps are - at operating temperature (temp gauge at half way) it was fluctuating between 92-95 degrees Celsius.

Just driven from Gold Coast to Mount Gambier in 4 days. Done the back roads and about 200+k of dirt. All 35+ degrees and one day of 40. Temp never went over half way. Never went below either!!!

Default Engine temps

Hi all
my temp gauge in the dash allways reads 100degrees this is hopelessly inaccurrate. A few months back i had the complete cooling system serviced & i fitted a good quality aftermarket gauge & sender unit this gauge reads between 76 & 89 degrees depending on the weather & road conditions at the time. I have even stopped at the side of the road thrown up the bonnet & checked with a lazer temp device right next ot the dash temp gauge sender unit in the head & it reads within 1/2 a degree of the aftermarket gauge.
in my experience you can only use your dash temp gauge as an indicator
