Rather than start another tyre thread just thought i'd re-hash this one. Finally given in and booked the car in to get smaller tyres on sat and was just wondering what brand and size everyone is running with on here and whether or not they would go the same again. Mine are maxxis bravo 700s 265/70/16 and have caused my auto all sorts of annoying daily quirks so hoping the downsize will make the kj a more enjoyable day to day drive. Thinking of something around 245/65????

Default Tyre choice

Hi there, Im using 245 75 16 BFG Rugged Terrains on standard mag wheels on my KJ, its lifted, do rub on control arms on full lock, (keep it off full lock OK). Not happy with these tyres, OK when dry & OK on the trails but get them on a wet road & they are scarey, really have to slow down on bends or it'll slip out of control, would not recommend them. 5000 klm on them, for sale !!!

I'd go with the 697's in a 245/70 16 LT. They are quite a common size,
