You need to find a panel shop that uses water based paints instead of solvent based and inferred spray booth rather cant a conventional spray booth that's the reason u get the big difference in sunlight, jeeps are painted in water based paint. I had the same issue until I got it sprayed in water based paint.

Handfl, that is very interesting information. I had always assumed that the panel beater would use water or solvent based paint depending on what the rest of your car was painted in? Is this not standard practice?

Not always.
When yours had to hade the rear-end repaired, the insurance assesor directed us to a very short list or repairers because of this.
As it is, the job had to be redone due to a fault in the paint (even had suppliers rep come check it out).
If you are looking for it you can see slight difference on ours (black on black), but most of that is because the repair is a better quality job that original!!

Original has slight orange peel effect all over, repair is smooth as glass..

Actually Breyten, this is the real irony about my paint job.

The paint itself is fantastic, perfect in every way and matches the appearance of factory in all but one respect, colour.

My theory is that the painter is a seasoned veteran but the kid that did the colour match is an apprentice or has uncalibrated equipment.

Zander unfortunately not!! Only high end panel shops have the equipment to spray water based Paint due to the fact of the cost set up, the America's have tried to go Eco friendly with this new water based paint and its just starting to come popular in Australia now, and breyton is right the standard jeep paintjob is very orange peely but I can't answer that lol
