Oh and when I say I "bolted" down to Bunnings, I actually mean I putted down in limp mode without any turbo to speak of. Its staggering how unbelievably gutless this engine is without the turbo! It may be partly limp mode to blame I guess but its way less powerful than our 2.8L NA hilux farm ute!

Default turbo hose emergency fix I hope

Great idea....but the best fix is preventative....If you have a CRD, upgrade the turbo hoses sooner rather than later. Just about the only thing you'll ever have to do to increase reliability of the engine.

Not that I have a diesel, but have these hoses been upgraded by jeep as yet???

mine blew on a saturday arvo, fixed it with a pushbike tube repair kit, muffler bandage and gaffer tape, got onto the samco dealer in brisbane first thing monday morning and got them sent to my work adress in an airbag overnight they arrived lunchtime tuesday and fitted that afternoon,cost was a little bit cheaper than dbor but they are in vic & i'm in cairns.
i got 58ks out of the originals

Yes, people who have bought OEM hoses report that Chrysler upgraded the quality of the hoses. I'm not sure which year the improved hoses started.

mine went at 71,000kms seems to be around the standard. DBOR had the hoses to me less than 24 hours after i ordered them.
