Default Overnight 4WD trip in the Brisbane region or beyond

Hi all

My wife and I are looking for a 4WD overnight trip from Brisbane, looking for a easy track we could do on our own if no one else was to come along and really just want to explore whats around our new place we live in, we have seen so many pictures in this forums from peoples show us your pic's thread's but don't know where half these places are.

We are fully set up for camping and have a capable Jeep now so we want to use it.

We would like a sort of round trip and some where to camp of the beaten track, any one have any suggestions, we have just moved to Brisbane from NZ in August last year and really dont know whats out there to explore apart from the normal stuff like Bribie, Morton and Rainbow beach. We have done 1 4WD weekend with other Jeepers from the forum to LCMP and enjod that.

Suggestions would be great. Cheers Stephen

Hi Hotdognz. I met you at that LCMP. (I'm the red KK) I'm always keen to get out and do some easy touring and camping with my young family so hopefully we can hook up on a trip sometime.

The next trip I'd like to do is just drive through the D'Aguilar Range tour, about 70-80km of track that from all reports is pretty easy and camp over somewhere and explore. I've camped at Mt Mee Archer Campgrounds before and it was quite nice (if a little crowded) but drove in from the north Woodford side so want to go back and drive the whole track, entering from the south Dayboro side.

If you have Google Earth installed on your PC here is a copy of the track I made of the trip.

Hey Hotdognz,

The Brisbane Jeep Club is going to Cob and Co Nine Mile camp ground. (Up near Gympie i think)

They are going on the 8-10 June, two nights.

They are going to do some nice easy forest drives and they could even go to Rainbow Beach for a run. They have also found some harder tracks but are still looking.

The trip rating is easy with medium to hard options.

The Brisbane Jeep Club is a great friendly bunch and they try and organise camping trips almost every month.

Visit their website and register.

This is the link straight to the trip Thread:
