When they were taking pics of my TJ for issue # 180, I said, I suppose I'd better put the seat belt on and they said it didn't matter.
To be fair, I was in and out of the Jeep a bit and we were doing stationary shots - made to LOOK like I was moving.
Of the 600 odd pics, they only used a handful. I have copies of 150 pics taken on the day - happy to report seatbelt is on in nearly all of them.

My personal view is the 4WD Action crew are doing more harm than good for the 4WD community particularly with the way they shoot their DVDs.
They talk about tread lightly concepts but rarely do you seem them practice what they preach IMO.
I know it is a business but the level of advertising vs content puts me off these days.

I must admit that "judging a book by its cover", I've never bought or read any of the magazines or seen the DVD's.
But one common thread amongst most of the people who have responded here is that they don't seem to foloow the "tread lightly" principles nor do they promote and foster a responsible attitude towards off roading and 4WD vehicles.
These are the types of attitudes that the laymen will see and blame the rest of us for doing the same thing, painting all of us with the same brush.
And to be completely honest, I saw them at the Melbourne 4x4 show last year and the image projected then to the public was they are a pack of ratbag hoons. That mightn't be so, but people generally form attitudes based on perception.
With the public profile they have imagine if they did things the right way and fostered an harmonious to the bush and off roading.

I really wont delve far into this... but I find it hilarious how many "facts" you guys have horribly wrong! IMHO I think there are plenty bigger issues facing 4WDers today, then whether Australia's leading vehicle entertainment magazine prints acceptable 4WDs and wear their seat belts.

I definitely agree with the "magazine of choice when on the can" !!! And I do learn a lot about 4wd capability via the DVDs. I guess that overall the mags r becoming a bit of "it's been done before".

Having been around when the first issue of Overlander came out it wasn't long till the exact same issues were brought up, so nothing changes folks, well more PC BS nowadays.
