From all reports the Nittos are a step above the MTRs and KM2s in offroad performance esp mud. Thats the Nitto mud grapplers, dont know about the trail grapplers. Guys on patrol4x4 seem to rate them at Simex level which is ridiculous for a tyre with what doesnt seem like such an extreme tread pattern.

Not sure of anyone who sells them here.

I was going to get them from the States...

I think Murchisons was going to possibly start stocking at the end of the year...

A little off topic and at risk of getting flamed but as Tyrepower pointed out to me Micky T's and anything like them are going to be hard to get a replacment if you spike a sidewall. Sometimes the best tyres might mean you need to carry two spares. Because I am doubtful if you go remote, like Tassie you will find any US made tyre to replace a spiked one, when you need it in a hurry. IMHO I would seriously look at a brand that has a greater pecentage of the market, eg Maxxis Bighorns unless you can afford to carry the extra spare. In reality a spike is not as common as a puncture but it does happen. Just something to think about.

Regards A

But to counter this argument these off road biased tyres have far superior side walls and reduce the chances substantially.

How many staked side walls do you see in a comp situation. Very few because no one runs road biased weak sidewall tyres
