i'd be interested to hear the answer to this also.

i used to live in Mount Beauty - town under falls creek... and if they had a cold enough night the town would get a great metre or so dump of snow!!!
not sure how that helps but i remember trawling around in the paddock bashers in the snow in our paddocks once it fell !

I went up to Mt Selma about 2 weeks ago and there was evidence of snow. I reckon you would need approx. 20cm in the treed areas to get 5-10 on the trail. Check http://mountbawbaw.com.au/ for a nearby snow report.

Check the snow cams of the village area and roads if they have snow you may have snow on nearby Selma and Skene. Snow on the roads to BAW BAW is a good indication of potential snow at lower altitude higher temp mountains in the region. If they are fitting chains to 4x4 at BAW BAW then nearby mountains should also have good challenging snow cover. At a guess I would say this weekend should have melting snow on Selma.

Keep in mind that Selma will likely be several degrees warmer than BAW BAW so expect very muddy trails.

I rode over the top of MT Matlock today on the way to Jamieson, heaps of snow from before the Triangle ( along Warburton -Woods Point Rd) all the way past the Gap Getaway. Lots along Corn Hill Track too.
It's an easy drive from eastern burbs via Warburton and Reefton Spur Road.

Couldn't ride to the summit of Mt Terrible, snow was too deep for dirt bikes and lots of trees down for extra fun.

I was considering a day trip to Mt Terrible this Saturday.
I wanted a day in the snow to see how the JK goes.
I guess my plans will be put on hold.
