The heaviest person I looked after (Reg Nurse) was 320 kg I kid u not!! A third of a metric tonne. F...huge!!! Anyway, it was about 15 years ago. Only young about 32 yrs old. He walked thru the Emergency Doors blue all over. As blue as the ocean. Couldn't breathe. His heart was giving out and he was drowning in his own fluids.
He couldn't get onto a bed let alone fit onto it. We sat him in a two seater settee. Gave him some stuff in a vein to make him piss. Then had to connect him to a ventilator... sitting up in the chair!!. He pissed out 32 litres in one night... instant weight loss. Lost another 43kg next day. 75kg weight loss (all fluid) in 24 hours. He survived it all.
Was a good person. Lovely wife who weighed about 55 kg and 2 little boys. How did he make them? Imagine, imagine, imagine!!! Breakfast was at least 2 loaves of bread (toasted). Lunch would consist of at least a full chicken plus bread. Dinner was twice this amount plus a BUCKET of ice-cream. And, he snacked in between meals.
Seeing more fatter and fatter patients (now called bariatrics so as not to upset them). Routinely 130 - 150kgs. Some r that big u wonder how they can wipe their own arses. Men and women and even relatively young ones.
Blokes pee by standing over a bucket and letting it rip. Some even think nurses should lift them up the bed. And, somehow, they all seem to have a stash of fatty foods to eat when u aren't looking. Guess what? They all say they r not big eaters!! Yeah, right.
Being unable to solve the fatness issue is the biggest failure in health policy in Aust and every developed country in the world. It's coming your way soon!!! I am serious.
