Picked up the bushranger one for $150.
Testedcand it works noticed that it is rather hard to feed cable through, I checked the lever is in the correct position all the way.
Is that normal?

Not normal if lever is fully retracted and jaws unlocked. I've got two winches, one from ARB and the other one from Nobles and cable easily feeds through both of them.

Do you need to do any maintenance with these hand winches?
Like grease anything up?

Yes. Refer Section 11 of the document on this link: http://www.angliahandling.co.uk/Datasheet/tirfor_OM.pdf
