So a set of 04/05 17 x 7.5 GC wheels with a claimed 50mm offset should do the trick then?

So i went to see my local jeep dealer, the offroad adventure pack now comes with laredo style wheels with "all season" tyres, apparently there has been a bit of negative feedback re the black ones like on the mopar site. I think ill go that option as ive had a look at a few laredos and the wheels are growing on me.

I also mentioned i wasnt keen on the gold interior plastics and dont like the vesuvio interior with the blue/brown which has the silver, the dealer promptly commented, i dont see why we cant get them to put the silver bits in when its made. Quite good i thought as when we got out toyota it was more or less "thats just how it comes". Also gave me a shinny brochure as they didnt have any last time i went in, the more i read, the more it shits on the mitsubishi and toyota offerings.

Here is a set of rims on ebay that may suit, with a +35 offset they should do the job.

Thanks Clarky. Will keep an eye on them.

What trick are you trying to do. If it's putting 17's on a WK2 it has been posted that you need an offset of at least 19pos, in which case no factory 17" rim will work.

Trick is a cheap set of 2nd rims for off road work.

With my limited knowledge on offsets I was thinking if +19 fit then + 50 would have no problems. The bigger the offset the more clearance away from the breaks.

I guess not then.

Offset is the measurement of where the centre of the width of the rim sits in relation to the mounting face of the rim eg the part that sits on the hub of the car. So a 0 offset rim has it's centre line directly in line with the mounting face. A 50+ offset has the centre line 50mm in towards the centre of the car. A 19+ offset moves the centre line back out 31mm. In the case of the Grands you are looking for rims with less offset than 50mm eg lower positive number. Massive offsets are then in the negative eg neg 25 puts the centreline 25mm out past the mounting face away from the centre of the car. This is the territory of big JK's or old school cruisers etc.
