unfortunately its much worse than that.

First you start secretly saving.
Then you lie about what it cost when she notices something new.
Then you convince her you need better lights/spots because of the dangers at night
Then you lie about what they cost.
Then when you break something on a beginners day out, you lie about the cost.
Then you start doing mods that don't show (re-gearing/sleeved & gusseted/supercharger/ARB diff covers/etc/etc/etc
she wonders why the jeep is at the garage again, so you tell her its a 5k service, so you lie about the costs.
you take it wheeling with some of the hard core boys, and break things.
take it to the garage, tell het its another 5k service and lie about the cost.

I think you might get the general idea of owning a Jeep

Spot on, except my wife has a keen eye for changes except what's under the car, I just mention how much hair and hair removal costs in a year, oh and nails too, usually keeps them numb.
