I doubt it mate.. the concensus is they do nothing for economy (or power) and are all about the noise they make

If your looking at an auto the 3.6 comes with much nicer 5 speed which also has better downshifting on the lever

My 3.6 gets me 17/100km not that damn economical but it is bigger and heavier.

Don't know who's consensus? My fuel economy is on average 2ltrs per hundred better off. I was averaging 15 around town, when I first installed and giving it a boot full it went up to 17 - 17.5 I'm now back at mid 13's

I have a 3.8 manual. I average in the low-mid 12s around town, and that's not driving it like a granny or anything like that.

You'll pick up a 3.8 for less than 30K, there's going to be several thousand dollars difference to step up to the 3.6.

That's a lot of mods and a lot of petrol....

If you haven't driven the 3.6, then you don't know what you're missing but you'll save thousands. If you drive the 3.6, you probably got no choice then...lol

I also have a 3.8 manual, I would agree that if you haven't driven the 3.6 you will find the 3.8 alright. Fuel consumption goes through the roof when you add barwork and a lift and bigger tyres though.
