My 5speed diesel around town will average between 9.5 - 10.5 using the EVIC numbers, which seems pretty close to real world.
On the highway it averages 8.5.
Towing my 2.5T van it does 13.5 -14.

very happy with all that.

+1 for the Diesel, especially since you're buying new and don't need to worry about service history.

Default Fuel consumption figures

Unfortunately I can only afford new if I go the petrol. If I want diesel I will have to get a secondhand 5 speed.

BUT the interior and the new funky dash is really cool on the MY14. So I am maybe 60% in favour of the petrol at this point. Although there is a cheap 5sp petrol for Sale at the moment with quadra-lift.........

At the moment the difference between the price of diesel and petrol can negate the fuel gain of diesel, many only look at Km/lt or Lt/100Km but you have to look at $$/100Km to get a real perspective of cost's. At times you can find diesel up to 10c/lt more than petrol most annoying.

Don't forget re-sale drover.
So many think about the purchase price and forget about what it is going to be worth to sell.

Cheers, Craig
