I put a 4.0L engine in a diesel body, but everything is the same as putting a manual box behind the 4.0l with the clutch set up and the wiring.
my 2.5L diesel with stock gearing and 33's pushes along quite well, a little sluggish off the mark on a steep hill, but other than that powers nicely will sit on 120km no worries with more acceleration in it.
that's really good to know. no problems with over heating like that? not putting too much load on the motor? what about your l/100km?
Same question applied to drgn1708erin, what kind of l/100 are you getting with that set up?
mines a 2001 classic 4.0l petrol with 1998 td rear diff, front hp diff and manual ax15 gearbox mated to the np242 transfercase. It has 31 mud tyres. I like it
Question with your conversion.
Do you have trouble with the console and 2nd gear? Mine seems to hit the console when changing to second?

hi, fuel economy seems to be 12-12.5l/100 city and 10.9-11.2l/100 highway.
Nathan, yea mine hits to, rectifying that prob so it looks factory is on my list.
Okay thanks for the offer, I'm in Germany until March so this projects on hold until at least then, but I really want to get the info together before i decide to track someone down to check the car and keep it safe for me.
Mudmonster, do you run an oil cooler on the TD at all?
