running mickeys 285/70/17 muds with stock 08 rims and OME lift and no issues

Yep running Goodyear Duratracs in 285 / 70 17's and so far no rubbing on anything. Sitting on a 2.5in lift with 1.5in front bump stops.

Many run the 285/70r17 on stocks with no apparent issues. I would say that their setups are giving them bugger all flex/articulation.

I'm running skinnier 33s and still rubbing my coil buckets with 3" bump stops but the amount of rub is acceptable.

This is contact with 4" bump stop.


I must admit the 285s look good though.

That could be true, Fruju. Mine has a 2" Old Man Emu lift installed by the previous owner. I added front Poly disconnects. I don't think the bumpstops were extended, but may be wrong on that.

What length shocks do you have Fruju? I reckon the longer 27in shocks with the extra drop on the other side will be tilting your tyres in further at the top than mine. Also I only have 1.5in bump stop extensions so the fatter middle section on my 285's will be another 2.5inches above where yours are sitting.

I have 26" shocks and mine was touching until I got the axle dead centre. That was when I was running adjustable LCA's. Haven't tried it now that I've got the AEV drop brackets and stock arms in (might have to have a play over Xmas and see). With 27" shocks I'm pretty sure that it would have been touching even with the axle centred.

That's assuming your drivers side wheel is fully stuffed when your passenger side wheel drops. It may well be but if that's not the case then the bulge in your tyre will be lower.
