Default WK2 Suspension nut

I checked out other vehicles with a similar front suspension set up and their suspension nut was outside the vertical line of the wheel...why did jeep NOT do this as well!!!!!!!!!!!!! They would know that the majority of M/T tires on 18" rims are 275x65!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If the nut line was 2cm in we would not have this issue, or if tire manufacturers made an M/T 265x60 x 18" tire
The heavy duty brake calipers do not permit a rim downsize to 17"; so with the brake issue fixed from previous series we now cannot fit proper tires!!!!!!

I've encountered no rubbing in my 2012 Quadra-Lift equipped Overland, (i.e. park mode, aero mode, off road at full articulation, etc.). I'm taking a trip up to Fraser Island at the end of the month which should provide another good test to see if they rub at all.

These were the only mud terrain tires I could find in Australia in this size. There were plenty of all terrain options, but since I was only going to use them off road, I wanted something a bit more aggressive. They are quite loud on the road, needed to turn the radio up a bit to drown them out. And I did notice a small loss in power, but nothing serious.

The first photo is in Off Road 2. The close up photo is in Normal Ride Height. The off road photos were taken at the Glass House Mountains just north of Brisbane.
Hi bmackin, I have been searchng for an M/T for ages, I have a 2012 WK2 with QL Laredo, but I am concerned about the suspension nut/bolt rubbing. How much clearance do you have with the 275/65's?

Hi Mango,

I'd have to measure to say for sure how much clearance there is, but I can tell you I've never had any problems with rubbing. I've taken them out on more than a few decent 4Wheeling adventures without any problems. I also know a few other people running the same size without any problems.

I hope that helps.

Cheers,
Bill
