Sounds like a bearing is stuffed, wheel nuts loose, both side or just one.

Wheels are off the ground aren't they ???

Sounds like bearings to me, you should be able to buy then from any good bearing shop pretty easily/cheaply.

Not an overly difficult job but a press is required. to push the new bearings and retainers on.

Unless some water got in then it's a bugger of a job to get the axle out. Solution - BFH!, and lots of sweat!

But, you might be luckier than I, and they'll slide right out. Still, you'll need to press the retaining ring on.....

I modified my slide hammer, I welded a nut onto one of the adapters I had and then wound it onto the one of the wheel studs. A couple of quick taps and the axle was out.

Something like this is very useful:

Default Sloppy Diff

Hey guys really appreciate the responses and yeah sounds like a bearing!!!
Spoke to the WA Diff Centre and as I have a oil leak only on the left where the steel tube sits in the centre diff housing he said sounds the seal is stuffed and what happens is the diff oil washes all the grease out of the wheel bearing and Wula!! stuffed bearing!!!
Has quoted 350-450 depending on bearing cost. going to do it,as well, I just finished pulling the whole rear end out so now it is his turn and also I don't have a bearing press!!!
Thanks again for your advice..
