Anyone able to compare to the ones in the AEV Dualsport lift kit? It was the kit I was looking at (eventually) getting but if the shock/spring combo isn't as good as some alternatives I may continue my search... As far as AEV says it has the Bilstein 5100 shocks but tuned specifically for the JK with their lift, and has progressive springs. The site says they aren't stiff for daily driving but it's hard to really get an idea from the manufacturers website!

The biggest issue when asking for opinions like this is that tyre size, load rating and pressure are critical in determining ride. In my own personal vehicle, I have run 4 different brands of tyres in the last 4 weeks:

- Toyo MT
- Procomp Extreme AT
- Iroks
- Procomp Extreme Mud Terrain

All made my jk ride differently the worst being the Toyos which were horribly stiff even at 28 psi.

The Iroks shit all over the Toyos which really surprised me. The ride was bone jarring.

Yes totally agree....
My set up at the moment is
285/70/17 hankook dynaproATM at 28psi..on the good roads very smooth and quiet
2.5" flexicoils
5160 Bilstein remotes
And i carry very little extra weight. i thought this was a pretty good set up for my needs
I feel all the irregularities, expansion joints and all the other broken ,uneven bits and shake my head and think that there is something not working together.
By radical comparison over the same sealed roads, my other car is a 350Z track with 19" lowprofile tyres and on the same broken bitumen and crap Gold Coast freeway joints I hardly notice it.
Has me wondering !!
