Have you done an upper cylinder clean and see if that helps?

Side note, looked at a falcon that was the same today
Dropped no2 for no reason
Runs fine at revs
Can see piston is covered in carbon
Im sure I mentioned that pages ago...

I woke up this morning with the same idea. Get a can from Bursons pretty cheap.

Thanks again for the help gents

Ive got a few contacts for helping out (rodgebone :P) its just a matter of booking it in and getting around to it.

I might try some cleaner as suggested - for the sake of a few bucks, it cant hurt to give it a shot. Can you recommend any products specifically ?

As mentioned, cylinder 1 was 25psi and number 6 was 175psi

Looking at those figures, they seems fairly good besides cylinder 1 - would i be correct ?

On another note, regarding sticking valves; is it worth pulling the rocker cover - will anything stand out with a visual ?

OEM spec is 150psi +/- 30 PSI, so if it is 175 PSI then that's fine, assuming an accurate reading gauge of course...

Save your money, dont waste it on something that wont fix the problem. 25# is way beyond a snake oil fix.

the other figures are very good. When the head is off, turn it upside down & fill each combustion chamber with petrol, if any valves are leaking you will see a wet patch coming out of a port.

If you are going to pull the rocker cover off, you are 1/4 of the way to having the head off. just keep going. I can understand some one being concerned about putting the head back on. That is when you call on help from others. You wont see much with the rocker cover off.

I think I'll start with a wet comp test then try leak down. This should point me in the right direction. I can then figure how I want to proceed
